Storyline:

With the dissolution of her marriage and the death of her mother, Cheryl Strayed has lost all hope. After years of reckless, destructive behavior, she makes a rash decision. With absolutely no experience, driven only by sheer determination, Cheryl hikes more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, alone.

Milestones (SECOND ACT):

1. Set of Trial (00:15:00): Cheryl has her first tasks and sees how unprepared she is to this new world.
2. Making Ally (00:25:00): Cheryl meets a farmer, Frank, who takes her to his house and gives her food.
3. Meeting the Goddess (00:30:00): Cheryl remembers the time she spent with her ex-husband.
4. Set of Trials (00:33:00): Cheryl keels her walking. Now she is smarter.
5. Making Ally (00:35:00): Cheryl meets Greg, a more experienced hiker, who gives her tips about the trail.
6. Call for Adventure (00:39:00): Flashback of Cheryl and her friend talking about the fact she might be pregnant. The first time Cheryl sees a book about the trail. She decided to be tougher.
7. Crossing the Second Threshold (00:42:00): Cheryl climbs a mountain and crosses a river. She gets in a camping. Cheryl makes friends and receives a package from her ex-husband.
8. Making Ally (00:45:00): Ed cooks for her and helps her with her boots and backpack. Cheryl meets a annoying reporter on the road who refuses to help her and keep making personal questions about the life. After it she gets a ride with a group of old rockers who lost their child years ago. Cheryl remembers of her mother and the cancer.
9. Approaching The Inmost Cave (00:58:00): Cheryl is alone in the snow thinking of her mother.
10. Love in the Underworld (01:04:00): She remembers the time she got closer to her brother when the death of their mother was approaching.
11. Belly of the Whale (01:08:00): Her mother dies. Cheryl starts to take drugs and having sex with strangers anytime, multiple times.
12. Making Ally (01:13:00): Cheryl meets another female hiker and finds out that Greg had quit the trail before her.
13. Atonement with the Father (00:16:00): Cheryl talks with a therapist and she has memories of her father, a drunk violent man.
14. Resurrection and Elixir (01:21:00): Paul shows up and rescues her from the underworld of drug abuse. Cheryl finds a empty water tank on the road. She is thirsty therefore she drinks from a dirty puddle. Cheryl finds a town, she meets some nice people and have fun. She sleeps with a young nice man and be at peace with herself
15. The Ultimate Boon (01:36:00): Cheryl sees a white horse and during the night she has a dream of her mother. In the morning she gives her brother a call.

1. Freedom to Live (01:43:00): Cheryl meets a young boy on the road and she teaches him about life. She also learns a lot from him and from herself. She finally cries the lost of her mother and sees the end of the trail.
